Finsch's Rufous Thrush, Stizorhina finschi, is a West African forest thrush found from Sierra Leone to Nigeria. It belongs to the family Turdidae and was described by Sharpe in 1870. It lives in the thickest parts of forest at low levels, often close to streams, damp ground or wooded swamps, and it occurs from sea level up to 1500 metres. The bird is resident rather than migratory. It is scarce in many places, though it can be common locally. Some authorities treat it as part of Fraser's Rufous Thrush, but it is recognised here as a separate species.
