Firewood-gatherer, Anumbius annumbi, is a passerine of the Furnariidae that breeds in Paraguay, central Brazil and central Argentina. It is the only species in its genus and has no recognised subspecies. This bird is an open-country furnariid that can be found in grasslands, pastures, cultivated land, savanna, scrub, the margins of open woodland and trees near farm buildings. It is notable for its very large nest, made from thorny twigs and often placed in a conspicuous position on an isolated tree or other exposed site.
