Flame-crested Manakin, Heterocercus linteatus, is a bird of the southern Amazonian region of South America, with its main range in central Brazil and records from Peru and northern Bolivia. It belongs to the manakin family and was first described in 1850. The species is found in humid várzea forest and wooded areas beside water, reaching to about 500 m. Males show a mostly black head with a red crown stripe that is often hidden, a white throat with long silky feathers, and dark olive upperparts.
