Flaming Sunbird, Aethopyga flagrans, is a bird of the northern Philippines, breeding on Luzon and Catanduanes. It belongs to the sunbird family, Nectariniidae, and was described by Oustalet in 1876. It is tied to moist tropical forest, including primary and secondary woodland, from lowland areas to 1,350 metres. The species is now treated as monotypic. It was once grouped with the Maroon-naped Sunbird, but is now recognised as separate.
