Flammulated Treehunter

Thripadectes flammulatus

The Flammulated Treehunter is a small, insectivorous bird found in the Andes of South America. It is known for its distinctive olive-brown plumage with fine streaking on the underparts. This species is often found in montane cloud forests and adjacent habitats, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates in the dense vegetation. The Flammulated Treehunter is known for its high-pitched, repetitive song that echoes through the forest. Despite its small size, it plays an important role in the ecosystem by controlling insect populations. However, due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the conservation status of this species is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
