Flavescent Flycatcher

Flavescent Flycatcher, Myiophobus flavicans, breeds in South America from Venezuela to Peru and is a tyrant flycatcher. It is a resident bird of humid and wet forest, especially in subtropical and lower temperate zones, and it also uses forest edges. In some places it is associated with bamboo stands. The species is best recognised by the yellow to orange crown patch in adult males of the nominate form, while females lack it. Its range extends through the Andes and nearby ranges, with different subspecies occupying Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
