Ardenna carneipes
The Flesh-footed Shearwater is a medium-sized seabird with a wingspan of approximately 95-105 cm. It has a dark brown plumage, a pale pink bill, and distinctive pink webbed feet, from which it gets its name. These birds are highly pelagic and can be found across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, often nesting on remote islands. They are skilled flyers and are known for their graceful gliding and diving abilities. Flesh-footed Shearwaters are primarily fish-eaters, feeding on small fish and squid. They are known for their haunting calls and are often seen in large flocks at sea.
