Foothill Schiffornis, Schiffornis aenea, is a passerine of the Tityridae family in the foothills of south-eastern Ecuador and northern Peru. It was first named by Zimmer in 1936. The bird is mainly associated with the eastern Andes, where it lives in the lower storey of primary forest and older secondary growth. Its known range also includes a single record from south-western Colombia. It is a monotypic species and was once treated as part of a broader complex before being recognised in its present form.
