Foothill Screech Owl, Megascops roraimae, is an owl of the Strigidae family that breeds in northern South America, from north-eastern Colombia and northern Venezuela through the tepuis of southern Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and adjoining Brazil, and along the eastern Andean slope from Colombia to Bolivia. It lives in dense humid to wet rainforest. The species is usually found between 250 and 1,500 m, and has been recorded as high as 1,800 m. It is a small owl with a length of 20 to 23 cm and a weight of 91 to 128 g.
