Forest Bittern, Zonerodius heliosylus, is a member of the family Ardeidae in the order Pelecaniformes. It occurs in Australasia, with a breeding range on Salawati in the Raja Ampat Islands north-west of New Guinea, the Aru Islands south-west of New Guinea, and on New Guinea itself. It was described by Lesson and Garnot in 1828.
