Forest Elaenia, Myiopagis gaimardii, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family found in Middle America and South America, from Panama through Amazonia. It breeds across Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, the Guianas, Bolivia and Brazil, and also occurs on Trinidad. It lives in forests and along the margins of mangrove swamps. The bird is small, and the adult has a blackish crown with a partly hidden pale central stripe, a faint whitish eyebrow and a white eye-ring, along with olive-green upperparts and brown wings marked with yellow edging and two wing bars.
