Forest Elaenia

Myiopagis gaimardii

The Forest Elaenia (Myiopagis gaimardii) is a small passerine bird found in the forests of South America. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a pale yellow belly and a relatively long tail. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense foliage of its habitat. The Forest Elaenia feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging actively in the lower and middle levels of the forest. It is a common and widespread species, often found in mixed-species flocks. Despite some habitat loss, the Forest Elaenia is not currently considered at risk and is maintaining stable populations.
