Forest Fody, Foudia omissa, is a passerine in the weaver family that breeds in north-western and eastern Madagascar. It is found across the east of the island from north to south, with a few isolated populations in the south-west, including the Isalo and Analavelona massifs. Its habitat is lowland rainforest and humid to subhumid montane forest, reaching 2,000 metres. The species was described by Rothschild in 1912. It is fairly common over a wide range, though its numbers are declining because of habitat loss.
