Forest Rock Thrush, Monticola sharpei, is a songbird found in Madagascar, where it breeds across the island except in the far south-west and south. It belongs to the family Muscicapidae, the chats and Old World flycatchers, and was described by Gray, GR, in 1871. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural home is in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest in tropical or subtropical areas.
