Dicrurus adsimilis (Bechstein, 1794)

Fork-tailed Drongo, Dicrurus adsimilis, is a passerine of African savannas and other wooded habitats across the continent. It belongs to the family Dicruridae and was described by Bechstein in 1794. Its most obvious feature is a narrow, forked tail, and it is also noted for red-brown eyes and black plumage. The species is widespread from the Sahel to South Africa. It has four recognised subspecies. It nests near wetlands, forests and farms, and the breeding season changes with location. The female lays one to four eggs, which hatch after 15 to 18 days.
