Fulvous-fronted Barwing

Suthora fulvifrons

The Fulvous-fronted Barwing is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive plumage, with a bright rufous crown and a striking black mask across its eyes. The upperparts are olive-green, and the underparts are a warm buff color. This species is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks in dense undergrowth and bamboo thickets. It primarily feeds on insects and small fruits. The Fulvous-fronted Barwing is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard during the breeding season. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to its populations.
