Fulvous-vented Flatbill

The Fulvous-vented Flatbill is a small, insect-eating bird found in the Amazon rainforest of South America. It has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a fulvous or rusty-colored vent, giving it its name. This species is known for its distinctive call, a high-pitched, descending whistle. Fulvous-vented Flatbills are typically found in the understory of lowland tropical forests, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. They are often observed in mixed-species flocks, moving actively through the dense vegetation. The conservation status of the Fulvous-vented Flatbill is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, as it is widespread and not facing major threats at present.
