Fuscous Flycatcher

Cnemotriccus fuscatus

The Fuscous Flycatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in South America. It has a brownish-gray plumage with a pale throat and a distinctive eye ring. This species is known for its agile aerial foraging behavior, often catching insects on the wing. Fuscous Flycatchers prefer dense forest understory and edges, where they can find ample insect prey. They are known for their clear, whistled calls that can be heard throughout their forested habitats. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to this species.
