Fuscous Honeyeater

Ptilotula fusca (Gould, 1837)

Fuscous Honeyeater, Ptilotula fusca, is a bird of eastern Australia, where it lives in subtropical and tropical dry forests, especially dry eucalypt forest and woodland inland of the Great Dividing Range. It also occurs in coastal heathy forest in New South Wales and Queensland, and can be found in gardens and remnant forest on farms. It is a member of the honeyeater family and was described by Gould in 1837. It has a black bill and dark eye-ring, with a small black and yellow plume at the rear of the ear coverts.
