Eolophus roseicapilla (Vieillot, 1817)

Galah, Eolophus roseicapilla, is a cockatoo that breeds in Australia across Australasia. It is a familiar bird of mainland Australia and has also been established in Tasmania and New Zealand. The species is widespread and common in many altered and natural settings, especially where open ground is broken by scattered trees, while dense wet forest is avoided. It is placed in its own genus, Eolophus, and is one of the pink and grey cockatoos. Three subspecies are usually recognised, with the south-eastern form, the western nominate form and a northern form.
