Glaucous Macaw, Anodorhynchus glaucus, is a South American parrot that breeds in south-east Brazil, Paraguay, western Uruguay and north-east Argentina. It belongs to the macaw group within the parrot family. The bird is associated with a pale blue-green body and a greyish head, along with a long tail and a large bill. Its face shows a yellow bare eye ring, and the lower edge of the bill is marked by half-moon-shaped flaps. In Guarani, it is known as gua'a hovy, a name linked to its calls.
