Glossy-black Thrush, Turdus serranus, is a thrush of South America, breeding from Venezuela to north-western Argentina. It was described by Tschudi in 1844 and belongs to the family Turdidae. The species is mainly a bird of humid to wet subtropical and temperate habitats, including montane forest, cloudforest and mature secondary forest, and it also occurs in dry forest in north-western Peru. It is usually found inside woodland, often in the middle storey and canopy, and it feeds on fruits and berries. The species is mostly sedentary, though some elevational movement has been recorded.
