Akletos goeldii
Goeldi's Antbird is a small, secretive bird found in the Amazon rainforest of South America. It has a dark plumage with a distinctive white patch on its throat. This species is known for its insect-like calls and its habit of following army ant swarms to feed on flushed insects. Goeldi's Antbird is often found in the understory of dense, humid forests, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. Despite its inconspicuous nature, it plays an important role in the ecosystem by controlling insect populations. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species faces threats in some parts of its range.
