Gold-ringed Tanager, Bangsia aureocincta, is a passerine of the Thraupidae family found in Colombia in South America. It lives on the western slopes of the Andes, where it is tied to wet Andean cloud forest at high elevations. The bird is a plump tanager with a short tail, and adults are set apart by the bright gold band around the face. It was first described in 1910 by Hellmayr. Its known range is narrow, and it occurs in small numbers within a limited area.
