Euplectes diadematus
The Golden-backed bishop, also known as the diadem bishop, is a small passerine bird found in sub-Saharan Africa. Males are striking with a bright yellow back and black head, while females are more subtly colored with a streaked brown plumage. These birds are often found in open grasslands, marshes, and agricultural areas, where they forage for seeds and insects. They are known for their acrobatic displays during courtship, where males fluff up their bright plumage and perform aerial displays to attract females. The Golden-backed bishop is not currently considered to be a species of conservation concern.
