Turdus chrysolaus
The Golden-backed thrush (Turdus chrysolaus) is a medium-sized songbird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its striking golden-yellow back and dark brown wings and tail. The underparts are pale with dark spots, and the bill is yellow with a dark tip. These thrushes are known for their melodious and varied songs, often heard during the breeding season. They forage on the forest floor for insects, earthworms, and berries. The Golden-backed thrush is an elusive species, often seen singly or in pairs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future threats to its populations.
