Myiodynastes hemichrysus (Cabanis, 1861)

Golden-bellied Flycatcher, Myiodynastes hemichrysus, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family found in Costa Rica and Panama through northern and central Colombia to northern Venezuela and Ecuador. It is a resident of humid montane forest, especially cloudforest, and also uses forest edges, roadsides, watercourses, clearings, plantations and other altered habitats. Its range is split into three separate parts. The species is placed in the genus Myiodynastes and was described by Cabanis in 1861. It is one of the golden-crowned flycatcher’s sister species, and three subspecies are recognised.
