Golden-breasted Starling, Lamprotornis regius, is a passerine in the starling family found in Ethiopia and Somalia through northern Tanzania. It was described by Reichenow in 1879. This bird belongs to the order Passeriformes and the family Sturnidae. It is also known as the royal starling. Its breeding range lies across north-eastern Africa. The species is part of a group that includes two named subspecies, Lamprotornis regius magnificus and Lamprotornis regius regius.
