Golden-capped Parakeet, Aratinga auricapillus, breeds in south Brazil and is a parrot of the Psittacidae family. It is also known as the golden-capped conure. Its range is centred on semi-deciduous forest, but it also uses dry forest, moist lowland forest, dry savanna, plantations, farmland and even cities. The bird is mainly green, with a black bill, white eye-rings, an orange-red belly, and a red face that changes to yellow on the crown. Young birds gain the yellow head pattern and stronger red underparts as they mature.
