Golden-crowned Kinglet

Regulus satrapa

The Golden-crowned Kinglet is a small songbird known for its bright yellow crown stripe bordered by black. It has olive-green upperparts and a white underbelly. This species is highly active and often forages in coniferous forests, where it flits among branches and foliage in search of insects and spiders. The Golden-crowned Kinglet is also known for its high-pitched, rapid song, which is a series of trills and warbles. It breeds in North America and winters in the southern United States and Mexico. Despite its small size, this bird is a resilient and adaptable species, able to thrive in a variety of forested habitats.
