Tangara chrysotis (Du Bus de Gisignies, 1846)

Golden-eared Tanager, Tangara chrysotis, is a bird of the tanager family in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and north-west Bolivia. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It was first described in 1846 by Du Bus de Gisignies. The species has no subspecies. Its name refers to the golden ear feature noted in the scientific name, and it is the IOC’s official common name.
