These medium-sized parakeets are known for their vibrant golden-yellow plumage, with accents of green on the wings and tail. They are highly social birds, often found in flocks, and are known for their playful and intelligent nature. The Golden Parakeet primarily inhabits tropical lowland forests, where they feed on fruits, seeds, and nuts. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, the Golden Parakeet is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
