The Golden-tailed Sapphire is a striking hummingbird species found in South America. It is known for its vibrant iridescent plumage, with the male displaying a brilliant golden tail and deep blue throat. These birds are often found in montane forests and woodland edges, where they feed on nectar from a variety of flowering plants. They are agile fliers, capable of hovering in front of flowers while feeding. The species is known for its distinctive vocalizations, including high-pitched chirps and trills. Although not currently classified, the Golden-tailed Sapphire may face threats from habitat loss and fragmentation.
