Golden-tailed Woodpecker, Campethera cailliautii, is a bird of tropical Africa, found across a broad range in forest margins, open glades and mixed woodland-shrub country. It is a small woodpecker with yellowish-green to bronze-green upperparts, and the tail shows blackish tones with some yellow and green. The male has an olive-blackish crown with a faint reddish wash and a red nape, while the female lacks red on the head and shows buff spotting there instead. The juvenile is greener above, with pale streaking and lighter underparts. It occurs up to 1,000 m.
