Golden Tanager, Tangara arthus, is a tanager of South America, breeding from Venezuela to Bolivia. It lives in the Venezuelan Coastal Range and in Andean highland forests, where it is found in humid montane evergreen woodland, along forest margins and in nearby secondary growth. Its plumage is mainly golden-yellow, with black on the back, wings, tail and ear-coverts. Some subspecies also show brown underparts. The species was described by Lesson in 1832 and belongs to the family Thraupidae.
