Golden-throated Barbet, Psilopogon franklinii, is a resident bird of the Oriental Region, from western Nepal to northern Vietnam and the Malay Peninsula. It belongs to the Asian barbets and is found in moist tropical and subtropical forest, mainly at 900 to 2,700 m. Its range also includes India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and mainland China. The species was first described by Blyth in 1842. It has a wide distribution and a stable population.
