Golden Whistler

Pachycephala aurea

The Golden Whistler (Pachycephala aurea) is a medium-sized songbird found in Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. It is known for its melodious whistling calls and striking plumage. The male has a vibrant golden-yellow underside and a black head and back, while the female has a more subdued olive-green and gray plumage. This species is often found in a variety of habitats including forests, woodlands, and gardens. It forages for insects and small fruits in the canopy and mid-levels of trees. The Golden Whistler is not currently considered at risk and is widely distributed throughout its range.
