Golden White-eye

Zosterops chrysolaemus

The Golden White-eye (Zosterops chrysolaemus) is a small songbird found in the Solomon Islands. It has a distinctive bright yellow plumage on the head and underparts, with olive-green upperparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. Golden White-eyes are highly social birds, often seen in small flocks foraging for insects and nectar. They play a vital role in pollination and seed dispersal within their forest habitat. However, habitat loss and invasive species pose significant threats to their populations.
