Golden-winged Sparrow, Arremon schlegeli, is a passerine of the New World sparrows that breeds in Colombia and Venezuela. It was described by Bonaparte in 1850. It occurs in dry forest and dry shrubland, and also in heavily altered former forest, from lowland areas to 1400 metres. The bird is marked by a black head, a yellow bill, grey upperparts and green on the back. It is the only sparrow in its range with a fully black head, which makes it easy to pick out.
