Golden-winged Warbler

Vermivora chrysoptera (Linnaeus, 1766)

Golden-winged Warbler, Vermivora chrysoptera, is a New World warbler found breeding in north-central and north-eastern United States and south-eastern Canada, and wintering from Guatemala to northern South America. It is a passerine in the Parulidae family. Its range is now concentrated in two main areas, the Great Lakes and the Appalachian Mountains. The species was described by Linnaeus in 1766.
