Prunella ocularis
The Grandala (Prunella ocularis) is a stunning bird found in the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas and parts of Central Asia. With its striking blue plumage and contrasting black mask, the Grandala is a sight to behold. These birds are often found in small flocks and are known for their melodious calls. They primarily feed on insects and are known to forage on the ground in alpine meadows and grasslands. The Grandala's breeding season occurs during the summer months, and they construct cup-shaped nests in rocky crevices or cliffs. Despite their beauty, these birds are relatively elusive and are not commonly seen by birdwatchers.
