Gray-cheeked Thrush

Catharus minimus

The Gray-cheeked Thrush is a medium-sized, migratory songbird found in North and South America. It has a brownish-gray upper body, with a distinct grayish cheek patch and a white eye ring. Its underparts are pale with subtle streaking. This species is known for its haunting, flute-like song during the breeding season. Gray-cheeked Thrushes breed in boreal forests and tundra habitats and migrate to Central and South America for the winter. They forage on the forest floor for insects, berries, and other small invertebrates. Due to its remote breeding range, the conservation status of the Gray-cheeked Thrush is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
