Gray-crested Tit

Lophophanes dichrous

The Gray-crested Tit, also known as the Yellow-browed Tit, is a small passerine bird found in the forests of the Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive yellow eyebrow stripe, gray crest, and olive-green upperparts. This active and agile bird forages for insects and seeds in the canopy and lower levels of the forest. It often moves in mixed-species flocks and has a high-pitched, repetitive call. The Gray-crested Tit builds its cup-shaped nest in tree hollows and lays a clutch of eggs. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation may pose future conservation challenges for this species.
