Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch

The Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch is a small songbird found in high-altitude areas of western North America. It has a distinctive gray head, pinkish body, and dark wings. These finches are highly adapted to cold environments, with a thick plumage that provides insulation. They are often seen foraging for seeds and insects on the ground or in low vegetation. During the breeding season, they build cup-shaped nests in rock crevices or under overhangs. The Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch is a hardy species, capable of surviving in harsh alpine environments.
