Poecile cinctus
The Gray-headed Chickadee (Poecile cinctus) is a small songbird found in the boreal forests of North America. It is known for its distinctive gray head, black bib, and white cheeks. This species is highly social and often forms mixed-species flocks during the non-breeding season. Gray-headed Chickadees primarily feed on insects, seeds, and berries, and are known for their acrobatic foraging behavior. They build their nests in tree cavities and are known for their cheerful, buzzy calls. Despite being widespread, their populations are vulnerable to habitat loss and climate change.
