Gray-headed Tanager

Neopelma pallescens

The Gray-headed Tanager (Neopelma pallescens) is a small passerine bird found in the Amazon Basin of South America. It has a distinctive gray head, olive-green upperparts, and bright yellow underparts. This species is often found in the canopy of tropical rainforests, where it forages for insects and small fruits. The Gray-headed Tanager is known for its melodious song, which is often heard in the early morning and late afternoon. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss due to deforestation poses a potential risk to its population.
