Helopsaltes fasciolatus (Gray, GR, 1861)

Gray's Grasshopper Warbler, Helopsaltes fasciolatus, is a passerine of the Locustellidae family that breeds across southern Russia and northern Mongolia to south-eastern Russia, north-eastern China, the Korean Peninsula and northern Japan, and spends the non-breeding season in the Indonesian Archipelago and western New Guinea. It is a bird of lowland and coastal areas, with nesting in forests or thickets. The species was described by Gray in 1861. It was once placed with the Old World warblers, and the Sakhalin grasshopper warbler was formerly treated as the same species.
