Fregata minor

The Great Frigatebird (Fregata minor) is a large seabird known for its striking appearance and impressive aerial agility. With a wingspan of up to 2.3 meters, these birds are adept at soaring over the open ocean, using their long, pointed wings to effortlessly glide for hours without rest. Great Frigatebirds are predominantly black with a distinctive red throat sac in males, which is inflated during courtship displays. They are known for their kleptoparasitic behavior, often stealing food from other seabirds. These birds are found in tropical and subtropical oceans, nesting in colonies on remote islands. Their conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
