Great Hanging Parrot, Loriculus stigmatus, is a parrot of Sulawesi and some nearby islands in Australasia, where it lives in forest, secondary growth and tall mangrove. It is the largest of the hanging parrots, yet still a small parrot. The nominate form is mainly green, with a faint yellowish wash on the mantle and red on the chin, wing edge, rump and crown, though females lack the red crown. Other recognised forms differ in the mantle and rump markings, and the species nests in tree cavities.
