Great Thrush

Turdus fuscater

The Great Thrush (Turdus fuscater) is a large songbird found in the Andes mountains of South America. It has a dark olive-brown upper body and a pale grayish-white underbody, with a distinctive yellow bill. This species is known for its melodious and flute-like song, often heard in the dense montane forests it inhabits. Great Thrushes are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and berries, but they also consume insects and small invertebrates. They are often seen foraging on the forest floor or perched in the canopy. Despite their relatively large size, they are agile and adept at navigating through the dense vegetation of their mountainous habitat.
