Green Aracari

Pteroglossus aracari

The Green Aracari, scientifically known as Pteroglossus aracari, is a medium-sized toucan found in the tropical forests of South America. With its distinctive green and yellow plumage, this bird is known for its vibrant appearance and unique bill. Green Aracaris are social birds, often seen in small flocks foraging for fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. They play an important role in seed dispersal within their habitat. These birds are well-adapted for flight and are known for their agile movements through the forest canopy. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, the Green Aracari is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
